【Purpose】
We would like to share with interested attendees the most important aspects of some valuable experiences by high school teachers and students who participated in the first cohort of the SMILE project, carried out from October to December 2020 with two pairs of schools from Taiwan and Japan. Teachers and students from both Taiwan and Japan will share their many interesting (and some unexpected) experiences. Before and after their presentations, Professor Wakabayashi and Professor Iio, Directors of WILL*, will talk about the theoretical background behind the SMILE project and the results of their initial analysis of effects of the project.
*WILL: Workshop Initiative for Language Learning. A general corporation established in 2020, whose goal is to facilitate the realization of human capacities for learning languages.
